Division of Industrial Research
By digging out regulations that hamper market economy, international standards and corporate activities and analyzing them empirically and theoretically, Division of Industrial Research suggests directions of regulation improvement for business investment and job creation. It also carries out research on institutions and policies to ensure global competitiveness of major industries. The main fields of study include not only economic regulations such as entry and price regulations, location control, regulations in the service industry but also industry and trade policies on the trade and investment environment in Korea.

Division of Future Growth Strategy Research
The Division of New Growth Strategy Research performs integrated researches that are conducive to creating sustainable growth engines for the future and relevant policy proposals that help the nation overcome the low-growth doldrums and cope with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Specifically, the researches include physical capital, human capital, technological innovation and three new engines related to new industries, new markets, and new technologies. At the same time, studies on taxation, finance, banking businesses and population aging coupled with low birth are included. Moreover, timely policy proposals based on principles of a market economy will be provided by analyzing relevant policies, laws and regulations and conducting empirical analysis on them.

Labor market research T/F performs in-depth research on labor market reform which includes issues such as working hour reduction, extension of mandatory retirement age, and protection of non-regular workers. It also performs integrated research on long-term issues which include diversification of employment contract types, improvement of labor market participation of female, young and old workers. Main objective of the T/F is to provide theoretic and empirical research that provides foundation for job creation and worker protection through the improvement of flexibility and security of labor market.
